Broken Board!

My Little 133cm Rome Label kids board finally died!

As I was on my way home from copper today, I unstrapped and picked up my board to find the base delaminating on my heal side edge.

Time to find a new board!

Pipe

I have had 2 days training in the Copper pipe and it felt so good to be back in a perfectly shaped 22-foot halfpipe! I took it easy the first day, getting the feel of the transition and the walls, but after a few runs I was loving it and just wanted to keep pushing higher and higher!

Today was looking to be another perfect blue bird day but the clouds managed to roll in. The Snowboard Halfpipe Revolution Tour competition was on at Copper Mountain. I watched women’s qualifying to see who was competing and what tricks they were doing so I could get an idea in my head of where I need to be with my riding and working out a solid run for competitions. There were a few good clean runs thrown down by the girls, which was great to watch!

Tomorrow is ski Halfpipe practice, but the pipe is still open to the public so I will defiantly be up there training.

POW / Grand Prix!

It has been absolutely dumping the last 2 days and today was officially a day off training but if there’s fresh snow you defiantly don’t have the day off.

The Halfpipe Finals were on today for the Grand Prix Competition at Copper Mountain. The comp was set to start at 11:30 so I headed up the mountain a bit earlier to get a few powder tree runs in, and I’m glad I did. The snow was pretty epic!

After I had my fun in the powder I went to watch the competition and my coach got me into the competitors area at the top of the pipe, which was pretty cool being around all the pro riders. It was great watching the level of riding that’s getting thrown down by the girls knowing what I have to work up to. As for the guys Louie Vito and Luke Mitrani’s runs were pretty awesome.

I finally get to ride pipe tomorrow at Copper for the first time. So tomorrow is looking to be a great day.

First Day Riding!

Today was my first day riding at Breckenridge. The day was pretty perfect, blue sky, no wind and epic snow. Because it was my first day back riding since the Australian season I had a pretty mellow day, getting used to the snow and being back on my board and just doing a bit of free-riding.

Yesterday it snowed about a foot on the mountain and today I managed to find a few powder stashes in between the trees. All up it was a great first day to my season, and looking forward to the rest of my time here.

2010/11 season

2010/11 Season

My 2010/11 northern winter season will be mostly spent in Colorado training with ISTC (International Snowboard Training Center). I will be riding both Breckenridge and Copper Mountain.

I arrived in Frisco where I will be living for the season on the 5th of December and was very excited to be back in a town with snow everywhere!

Today I had a bit of a chilled day, getting organized. I caught the bus up to Copper Mountain to sort out my season pass and my Woodward passes. There were no problems with getting my passes and I am now ready to shred!

Just as I was leaving copper it started snowing, which was perfect

Tomorrow I will be riding at Breckenridge for the first time so i’m pretty stoked to get up the hill, meet everyone on the team and have a bit of a shred together.
